Services Gissing provides four types of service:

Pre-sales support

When you're considering implementing one of our products, a support engineer may visit you, probably accompanied by one of our business development team, to identify the likely integration and implementation tasks. This is the time when we will also discuss any requirement for additional functionality beyond that provided by our off-the-shelf products.

Installation and configuration services

Every installation is different; our products will be installed and configured to work with your systems. This process can vary from simple wizard-based configuration, through to highly complex internal configuration, or from installing a simple trial or pilot project through to a complex worldwide technology rollout. Your Gissing engineer will ensure that the installation and configuration of our product is smooth, timely and effective.

Post-sales support and maintenance

Our customers subscribe to our support and maintenance program. This includes telephone and email access to highly-trained support engineers during contracted hours. It also includes access to updated versions of the products on a regular basis: Gissing ConteX MCS has been updated with new functionality six times between January and September 2005, primarily in response to customer requests. Should you encounter a problem with one of our products, the support team will help you to identify and rectify it as quickly as possible: our customers use our systems in revenue-generating mission-critical situations, so minimising problems and getting things running again in the shortest possible time is always our highest priority.

Bespoke development

Most of our development expertise is committed to the continual development and enhancement of products for the markets we serve. However we are often asked to add specific functionality for our clients, some of which becomes integrated into our mainstream product offering. How we charge for bespoke development depends on whether we believe the resulting work is likely to be of value to other clients or not. Our development team has considerable expertise in real-time data transformation and in middleware messaging systems such as Reuters SSL, TIB and IBM MQ Series.
