Gissing RealtimeXL provides connectivity to multiple data distribution systems, including:

Gissing RealtimeXL can quickly and easily be interfaced to other platforms and is available in both Run Time and SDK versions.

Utilises Microsoft Real Time Data (RTD) functionality for best performance

With Microsoft Office XP (Office 2002), Microsoft introduced a new and much faster method of accessing real-time data: Microsoft Real Time Data (RTD). Gissing RealtimeXL detects which version of Microsoft Office it's being used with will use RTD if it's available.

The combination of Microsoft RTD and Gissing RealtimeXL delivers the best performance available for subscription to, and contribution of, market data in Microsoft Excel.

If Gissing RealtimeXL detects that it's running on Microsoft Office 2000 (a non-RTD version of Office), it will use our own code to achieve a similar result. However for the best performance we recommend the latest available version of Microsoft Office.

Gissing RealtimeXL has been tested with:

• Microsoft Office 2000
• Microsoft Office XP (2002), and
• Microsoft Office 2003

Subscribe to multiple sources of data simultaneously

Gissing RealtimeXL can subscribe to multiple data sources simultaneously, for example it can subscribe to both Bloomberg and Reuters data at the same time.

Many of our clients have found that achieving this with other add-ins is very unreliable and sometimes impossible. Gissing RealtimeXL makes it easy. And it can be installed on a Bloomberg Terminal.

Dedicated Gissing ConteX handlers for maximum performance

Gissing RealtimeXL can subscribe and contribute directly to Gissing ConteX MCS and Gissing ConteX Express. Some of our clients substantially reduced contribution latency by using Gissing RealtimeXL in this configuration.

With Gissing RealtimeXL Version 3.0, Gissing has made two dedicated handlers for Gissing ConteX available. These input (RTXLI) and output (RTXLO) handlers are optimised to provide the highest performance when contributing data directly to Gissing ConteX and when subscribing to data from Gissing ConteX.
