Gissing's RealtimeXL scoops Front Office Application of the Year in The Banker Technology Awards 2005
London, 3 June 2005 – Gissing Software, a leading supplier of software and services to financial institutions, today announced that RealtimeXL has received The Banker Technology Award for Front Office Application of the Year. Gissing Software’s recently launched RealtimeXL is the next generation of real-time pricing tools for users of Microsoft Excel and custom applications.
The Banker Technology Awards, sponsored by The Banker, part of the Financial Times Group, honours innovative solutions that have contributed to advancing shareholder value and customer service within the last 12 months. The judging panel, consisting of leading, highly respected industry commentators, decided the winners of the award on the basis of objective and results-orientated criteria.
Dan Barnes, Financial Systems Editor, The Banker, and member of The Banker Technology Awards panel says: “Gissing Software’s RealtimeXL was immediately identified as a winner due to its ability to transform the way in which spreadsheets are used. RealtimeXL enables contributions and subscriptions of new prices to multi-vendor data feeds, with fast and accurate calculation of spreads against benchmarks and option volatilities. Gissing’s customers benefited from hugely increased subscription and contribution performance. The flexibility of the system aided a much needed reduction in cost, by up to 50% in some cases.”
RealtimeXL delivers extreme improvements in volume, speed and accuracy, provides flexible pricing and configuration according to end users’ needs and has migration tools to protect current spreadsheet investments.
Mike Vieyra, CEO, Gissing Software, says: “This prestigious award recognises the value of RealtimeXL to anybody using real-time data in spreadsheets, and reflects Gissing Software’s continued efforts to make a difference in today’s fast-paced and competitive environment. We already have two major international investment banks using RealtimeXL and a lot of interest from the market. One bank is implementing it on a global scale covering 3,500 users in more than 25 sites.”
Gissing Software continues to invest in RealtimeXL development with the recent announcement at DWT, London of support for .NET functionality. In addition to real-time data tools, Gissing’s product portfolio includes transaction and STP solutions. Clients currently using Gissing Software’s solutions and technologies include tier one banks and brokers such as ABN AMRO, The Royal Bank of Scotland, GFI, WestLB and Merrill Lynch.
