BGC Partners, a worldwide brokerage firm spun-off from Cantor Fitzgerald in 2004, went live with an implementation of Gissing ConteX MCS earlier this year. BGC is using Gissing ConteX MCS to provide centralised output for contributions for various business areas including swaps and derivatives.

Following hot on the heels of winning "The Banker" Technology award for Front Office Application of the Year, Gissing Realtime XL has now been deployed at major European banks in the UK, Germany and the Netherlands. The impact of MiFID (Markets in Financial Instruments Directive) was one of the hottest discussion topics at the recent Contribution User Group meeting at The Brewery in London. Opinions on the actual impact, the cost implications and the number of organisations affected varied hugely, so we thought we'd try to find out the industry's real opinion, and what major organisations are actually doing about it. So we're conducting a web survey about MiFID - entries are unattributable, but everyone who takes part will be sent the survey results, and as an extra incentive, one participant will win a 60Gb iPod Photo.

We are increasing our presence in the US so that we can provide better service and be more responsive to our customers and prospects. We also want to be able to work more closely with our strategic business partners in North America. As a result, Gissing Software's US headquarters has relocated from midtown offices to new and bigger premises in the heart of the financial district at 44 Wall Street.

New Contact details for Gissing Software, Inc...
Now in its third year, the Contribution User Group continues to be a forum for discussion of topics surrounding contributions and market data issues. Open to any organisation involved in the market data arena, its independence is maintained by a chairperson independent of Gissing Software. David Anderson, principal of Atradia Consulting and editor of Inside Market Data Reference, has recently taken over this position.
