Gissing ConteX MCS has a modular architecture that enables us to deliver precisely the product configuration a client requires. Each module, or adapter, that’s added to the kernel to achieve the required configuration is called a “handler”. Gissing ConteX MCS supports a wide variety of handlers to receive, publish and manipulate real-time data.

Handlers are classified into four groups:

The existing set of handlers, built up over more than eight years since the product was first delivered, suits the vast majority of client configurations. Should a new handler be required for a particular situation, Gissing’s expertise in real-time data routing and protocol conversion and the modular architecture of the product means we can build a new handler very quickly.

Gissing ConteX MCS Input Handlers

CSVI* Comma Separated Value Input Handler Reads data from any text file into ConteX. It detects if the file has been modified and updates ConteX. Can pass static or 'nearly static' data into ConteX
DBSI Database Snapshot
Input Handler 		Reads data from any OLEDB data source, including any ODBC data source, into ConteX
MKLI MarketLink
Input Handler 		Emulates a Marketlink/XCI Gateway in interactive or broadcast mode.
MLII MarketLink IP 1.5
Input Handler 		Emulates a Marketlink v1.5.
RTRI* Reuters RMDS (SFC)
Input Handler 		For institutions migrating to Reuters’ new RMDS platform. Supports the SASS3 protocol in both QForm and Marketfeed varieties as well as legacy SASS2 support and P2PS based infrastructures.
RTXLI Gissing RealtimeXL
Input Handler 		TCP/IP based input handler to receive data from the Gissing RealtimeXL Excel add-in. Allows multiple users to contribute data simultaneously directly into ConteX. Includes permissioning mechanism.
SSLI* Triarch SSL Input Handler Direct replacement for the Reuters DCS and/or OCS using the SSL4 API. In Source mode works with standard front end applications such as Openlink and PPPro. In Sink mode works with standard Sources such as the DDS/DTS.
TC2I* TCP Input Handler
Version 2 		Socket based “open” handler to use with contribution applications that do not rely on a specific underlying market data platform or middleware. A COM object and Excel add-in are also available to use for contributing via this handler. Different protocol from TCPI with Improved protocol and significantly faster ACKed contribution rates.
TCPI TCP Input Handler Socket based “open” handler to use with contribution applications that do not rely on a specific underlying market data platform or middleware. A COM object and Excel add-in are also available to use for contributing via this handler.
TRVI* TIB / RV Input Handler Supports both the TIB market data platform (SASS2) and pure (non SASS) Rendezvous. Front-end contribution applications for RV are also available.
XRVI Custom RV Input Handler Custom handler written to support decoding of encrypted XML data over
Rendezvous.

BMMO Bloomberg Money Market
Offering Output Handler 		Enables contribution of data to the Bloomberg Money Market Offering using their ECPX protocol.
BRFO BRF Output Handler Publishes trade data out to the Bloomberg Retail Feed from a database
connection.
DCSO* DCS Triarch Output Handler Performs SSL Inserts to a Triarch Source, such as a DDS / DTS or DCS.
DFDO DataFeed Distributor
Output Handler 		Custom Handler to publish data to the DataFeed Distributor.
EBSO EBS Benchmark Output Handler Publishes FX benchmark data to EBS for processing by their benchmarking
system.
LIGHTO Lightstreamer Integration Provides an interface between ConteX and the Lightstreamer product.

MLIP2O* Reuters MarketLink IP v. 2.0
Output Handler 		Provides full support for the latest Marketlink IP v2 specification. Allows load balancing between multiple connections.

TCPO* TCP Output A TCP/IP socket based handler providing an efficient mechanism for receiving data from ConteX. Provided as a C++ wrapper, COM object and Java API.
TLKO* Telekurs Output Handler Supports their Multi Contributor interface protocol, including advanced
addressing and either TCP/IP or serial connections.
TRGO* Telerate R4 Output Allows ConteX to publish Telerate’s classic page-based serial comms protocols.
TRVO* TIB / Rendezvous Output Handler Market data received from any Input Handler available via the TIB backbone. Supports both subject name and form class mapping.
WEBO HTTP Output Handler Handler for implementing Intranet / Internet publishing via HTML or XML over HTTP. Includes an integral HTTP server.
XMSO XML Streaming Output Handler Supports broadcast publication of data to multiple clients via streaming XML.
XRSO* Rate Snapper Output Handler Custom Handler which will output to file snapshots of data sets at predefined times or on demand.

Value Added Handler 		Receives data from ConteX input handlers and delays data in the range from 1 second to 4 hours, before passing it on to a ConteX output handler
PSS Page Shredding Handler This module provides a mechanism for shredding logical records from page records.  Templates define which areas of the page contain the record and field names and where to retrieve the data for those records from.  As the page records update, the shredded records will also update in real-time.
PFS Page Formatting Handler This module allows construction of page records from dynamic lists of logical records.  Templates define location and format of static text and dynamic data from the source records. As the data in records changes or records are added or removed from the list, the page is re-built in real-time.
