As you will be aware from the September/October newsletter, Version 2.2 of Gissing RealtimeXL was the fastest version yet. Since that was released our team of developers has turned their attention to improving some of the usability aspects of the product.

The results are very impressive and include:

Gissing RealtimeXL Toolbar Provides direct access to all Gissing RealtimeXL functions.
Data Viewer Enhanced in this version to improve filtering, it enables the tracking of subscription data and monitoring and debugging of the spreadsheet.
Admin GUI Also enhanced to provide easier and more intuitive administration, configuration and management of the application.
Extended converter options Including conversion from Gissing RealtimeXL functions to native RTD to improve spreadsheet performance even further.
Table Wizard Allows searching via Bloomberg and record lookup on all Reuters platforms (except SSL). Provides filtering features that make finding the specific data you need and incorporating them into a table very easy and straightforward.
Chain Wizard Including chained data, such as FTSE 100 stock prices, can be done with a single click. Also enables you to unsnap chains.
History Wizard Include historical data with easy selection of fields. Choose a period or a start date and duration.

In addition, connectivity to Gissing ConteX MCS has been optimized by including support for two new market data interfaces. These connect to dedicated RealtimeXL handlers for Gissing ConteX MCS. These new interfaces will improve performance of both subscription and contribution when compared with our standard TCP/IP input and output handlers, and will also permit the transmission of parameters specific to Gissing RealtimeXL.

The Gissing ConteX MCS RealtimeXL input and output handlers (RTLXI and RTXLO) will be available with the next release of Gissing ConteX MCS, R3.74, during December. Using these new interfaces to directly connect Gissing RealtimeXL with Gissing ConteX MCS provides an optimised, low-latency solution for the use of spreadsheets in the subscription to, and contribution of, market data.
