Gissing RealtimeXL V2.2 – the fastest version yet!
More than 20 organisations have evaluated Gissing RealtimeXL over the past few months and most have told us that they have one overriding priority: speed.
Reducing cost is important to many, as is stability, scalability, reliability and the capability to subscribe to multiple sources of market data simultaneously. But speed, or to put it another way, reduced latency, is paramount.
So in Version 2.2 of Gissing RealtimeXL we’ve focussed on enhancements and changes to improve the speed of the product. In particular we’ve optimised the executed code to make it even faster, and we’ve implemented a native Reuters RFA market data interface, so substantially speeding up subscription to Reuters’ market data.
We’ve also developed another converter – but unlike our existing converters that allow you to migrate from another real-time add-in to Gissing RealtimeXL, this one converts your Gissing RealtimeXL sheet into native Microsoft Real Time Data functions. Think of this as if it’s a language compiler. You create your Excel sheet using Gissing RealtimeXL using the included real-time function calls. Then, when you’re happy with the functionality, you run the converter to create a sheet that uses native RTD functions – these are complex and not very user friendly – you wouldn’t want to code them directly yourself.
The result is that the “compiled” sheet runs, in some instances, in half the time of the original Gissing RealtimeXL sheet – so more than twice as fast as previous Gissing RealtimeXL versions. Compared to the real-time add-in that you’re currently using we think you’ll see a better than 2x improvement in performance!
And if you want to change the sheet, you simply go back to the pre-“compiled” Gissing RealtimeXL sheet, make the changes you require using our friendly and easy to understand real-time calls, test it to make sure it does what you want, and then “compile” the sheet again using the supplied converter.
