Gissing ConteX MCS 3.69 now available; 3.70 to be announced soon

Gissing ConteX MCS 3.69 was released on February 10th 2006 to supported customers, all of whom have been notified of its availability.

Until now we have made releases of Gissing ConteX MCS as and when it seemed sensible for us to do so. Generally this has meant either when we had a large volume of fixes and enhancements, or when one of our enhancements was urgently required by one of our clients.

While this policy allowed Gissing to respond quickly to client requirements, it meant that some clients obtained new versions very quickly while others had to wait for the announcement of the product after it was available and only then could they plan for its introduction.

Moving forwards, our intention is to have three or four releases of Gissing ConteX MCS in any 12-month period, and while these will still contain fixes and features requested by clients, the major functional enhancements will be planned, scheduled and announced in advance. This will enable our clients to decide which releases they need to implement to meet their business requirements and to plan the introduction and rollout of the release in advance.

So look out for an announcement shortly regarding the major enhancements to be included in Gissing ConteX MCS 3.70 which is currently scheduled for early June 2006.

In the meantime, here are the release notes that contain the detailed list of changes included in the recent 3.69 release:

Gissing Product Release Notes

10 February 2006

Installer

Detect running ConteX components at start of installation and prompt for ConteX to be stopped if necessary.

New formatting option - multiply by 100 and round to 2 decimal places.

BETF

Added sequence number override functionality.

Option to suppress sending of empty fields for logical RICs added (live client workaround).

MLIO

It is now possible to optionally append a suffix to an ISIN prior to publication.

RTRI

Added long name support for configurations that only support short names.

Apply prefix before suffix when manipulating chain 'NEXT_LR' record name (to allow .NaE to be overridden).

Configuration database parsing fixed to ignore '*defaultSector: .' in comment correctly.

Correct filename used for configuration database file, removing the possibility of configuration clashes between multiple RTRIHand instances.

Enhanced record name manipulation: prefix and suffix now applied more intelligently for better handling of chain records.

Extend record manipulation to change leading '.' to '^' if it follows '#', '/' or 'd' to improve support of 'Triarch' content in chains.

Option to suppress empty rows for MKLO added and extended to support multiple templates.
