New Chair for Contribution User Group

Now in its third year, the Contribution User Group continues to be a lively forum for discussion of topics surrounding contributions and market data issues. Membership is open to any individual or organisation involved in, considering, or interested in contributions.

Primarily this is a user organisation, but market data vendors, technology suppliers, consultants and commentators are welcome to join. Membership is currently free of charge, due to the generosity of both Gissing Software and organisations such as Reuters, BT Radianz, the FT, JPMorgan Chase, Merrill Lynch and Thomson that have sponsored and/or hosted the meetings so far.

Founded as the result of an initiative by Gissing Software, and still administratively supported by it, this forum will best thrive as an independent organisation. In order to ensure that the Contribution User Group remains an independent forum and that it’s run in the best interests of its membership it has always had an independent Chair. Our thanks go to Colin Wright, the former Chair, for setting the Contribution User Group off in the right direction.

We have been honoured and privileged that Colin has been able to hand the Chair over to David Anderson who chaired the most recent meeting in July 2005.

He is also the editor of Inside Market Data Reference – the annual report of the real-time market data industry. Prior to Atradia, David spent 17 years at various companies in this sector including Bishopsgate Systems, international positions with Telerate and most recently 13 years with Reuters.

We are delighted that David has agreed to bring his experience to help the Contribution User Group continue to develop and grow.

David has a Batchelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne and a postgraduate diploma in Marketing. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
